;DWow,Gen, Your costume looks brilliant! You're really pretty as Emily. Aww thank you! It took me about an hour to get all that makeup on... but I was pleased with the result. Alot of people thought I looked pretty cool.

You did! Except for the fact that she's blue not silver, but it does look cool and different. And hey, at least you painted more than just your face like I did!

Um, maybe because I couldn't FIND blue body paint? I know she's blue. I had to deal with silver because the Halloween store didn't carry blue... so I had to use blue shimmer stuff to add to the effect.

I didn't say it was a bad thing, don't get mad at me! I said it made you look cool and different! And anyway, it looks better than mine, I only painted my face.

I'm sorry. I did not mean to sound angry at you. But thank you... and why did you only paint your face, may I ask? You could've bribed someone to help you with the rest!

It's okay, I forgive you. My mom did my face, actually. We ran out of paint, so we couldn't do the rest.

I just had one of those little trays of paint. And I barely made it out for our neighborhood's pre-trick-or-treat block party. I guess I shouldn't have gone to a theater half an hour away to see the movie right before, but, hey, it added quality to the makeup!

Here in my country (Portugal) we don't celebrate haloween, but we have a similar holiday called Carnaval, where all the children go out in the streets masked as their favourite hero or whatever they like. Adults can have fun too, but unfortunately, they never show their masks during the day... Only in some discos and clubs that throw "carnaval" parties they dare to put on costumes... Sad, really, cause I wanted to be able to parade in the streets as Emily. I'm planning on being dressed as Emily on this Carnaval. My mum will do the skirt and top if I buy the fabric, and I'm thinking of buying a kinda thick black stocking, so I can draw the bones in it with fabric marking pens. The other leg stocking will be modified (sewed) so it can be the left arm (also with bones drawed in it). Then, of course, blue paint for the rest of the showing body (That's the good thing to have a friend that does body painting ) And then the veil, that is to me the easyest part. And not to forget the bouquet, of course... How does this sound to you?

That sounds quite nice. I'm looking forward to seeing it. When do you have Carnaval by the way so I know how long I have to wait. Is it during the week before lent? And you will post pictures of that costume when it is completed right? Yes?

If I'm not mistaken, it will be on the end of February. I'll post the day later. What's "lent" by the way? Never heard that word before! Of course I will take pictures! I want to have a souvenir of that night!!!

Lent is a Christian... um, holiday sort of thing, I guess. Everyone gives something they like up and can't *insert word here* it until Easter. It sucks.

Ooooohhhh I see... a kind of sacrifice... Portuguese people use not to eat meat every fridays... They have to eat fish... I don't like fish very much... X-|
Ok, this is an update!
My Emily costume is really going foward! Today something very cool happened! My grandma gave me some fabric that used to belong to some big curtains! And the fabric really seems like Emily's "skirt" part!!! It's awsome! And the best part of it is that the fabric is old, a bit dirty, stained and with little holes in it! That's just perfect!!! Tomorow I'll be buying fabric for the top part of the dress! I'm sooooooooo excited with all this! ;D ;D ;D ;D
