I love this movie! Just LOVE IT! At first I thought it was just some cliched movie when it came into theatres here, because it looked rather old and I had heard (then) that it was a remake of some theatre thing. But when I saw it, wow was it AWESOME! Feel so sorry for the Phantom....

You should see the musical Alaerda. The chandelier rises out into the audience at the beginning and swings down over your head at the end of act one-after All I Ask of You.

Hey, here comes my obbssive POTO talk!!!!!!!!!! (be prepared)
I honestly love this film/book (I have yet to see the musical but I will believe me I will.) I have quite a few theories based on the film, not the book I would like to stress.
Okay first of all i'm sorry but Raoul makes me mad. He made me mad in the film and he is making me even more mad in the book.
Next I have a theory that Erik and Madame Giry belong together just look at her facwe when Erik locks Christine in her room and the whole way through PTPONR.
Also I think Meg is Erik's daughter what do you all think?

I have heard that too, but I don't think it happened. If you read Phantom by Susan Kay, then you'll know that the shah's mother practically asked him to her bed and Erik never noticed. In the book I want to slap Raoul and Christine though-they are so immature.

He is. The only problem I have with him is that he cannot get that high note in Music of the Night. That is it.

OH MY GOD.... REALLY!? I GOTTA see this, have to! That's just extremely awesome!! But the only thing here at the moment is Cats and Lion King... grr. I love Gerard Butler too! XD Did anyone notice he played a bad guy in Tomb Raider 2? lol He was still hot in that movie as welll. Really? How different is it? I know he has a deep voice but I didnt really notice it. I compared it with the other voices of the Phantoms.... but i didnt well notice. ^^;; lol

Well...Michael Crawford gets it with the same ease as Emmy Rossum gets the Phantom of the Opera high note. but he sometimes sounds like a girl. Of you have heard Sarah Brightman get that note-it sounds like that. But Les Miserables and Annie are going to be playing here.

OH MY GOD.... REALLY!? I GOTTA see this, have to! That's just extremely awesome! Yeah, the chandelier is awesome XD my friend saw it and got scared at the chandelier (it made a loud noise or something) and she also got scared when the Phantom was in the graveyard and fire came up around him or something ^^;; I just saw the musical this past summer. Lion King is really good, I saw it two years ago!!

Ahh well, I want to see Lion King, I heard and know that it's probably really good but I can't really stand that it's in Japanese.... I really want to see it in English. AND its always full.... So yup, I think I'll go overseas to see that one Yeah actually, now that you mentioned it, I think the Phantom's high note DID sound like a girl. But I liked it, it wasn't that bad. And because of that note, I felt REALLY sorry for the Phantom, lol. But it was that part where he screams, "YOU WILL CURSE THE DAY YOU DID NOT DO..... ALL. THAT. THE. PHANTOM. ASKED. OF. YOUUUUUU!!!!". lol

I thought he hit that note perfectly. It was "Close your eyes, let your spirit start to SOAR" that Butler couldn't hit.

Of course...I think Ewan McGregor should have had a role in it. Even Raoul-I might have liked that character more. If you have seen Moulin Rouge!, you'll know what I mean.

I will give you that Butler did not quite manage to hit that note but I think considering the fact that he took the role with no prior singing experience what so ever I think he did very very well. I think in the DVD extras they say that he was selected because of his natural rock n roll style voice or something to that effect.
I wish they had included a lot of the elements of the phantom in the book, i think it would have made the film better but meh I loved the film and i'm still dying to see the musical.
hey if it comes here we should all go see it together FORUM OUTING I CALL SHOTGUN!!!
btw what the hell is shotgun? lol
