Talk about the Phantom of the Opera here! ;D and you can also talk about how similar it is to Corpse Bride. Here's how I think they are: Well, the PotO is a story about a man (the Phantom) who falls in love with a woman (Christine), but she's engaged to another man (Raoul). This leads to chaos. CB is about a guy (Victor, duh ) who is to be married to a woman (Victoria), but Victor finds himself in a mess of trouble when he accidentally marries the corpse bride (Emily) How are these movies similar? Both stories have a love triangle in them, and the characters play similar roles in the triangle: Victor is like Christine. Both can't decide whom they love. Victoria is like Raoul. Both love the one they're to marry, but they see someone has gotten in their way, and will do anything to save their beloved. Emily is like the Phantom. Both had a hard life, and are in love with someone who is already supposed to be marrying someone else. In the end, though, the result is always these two (Phantom, Emily) being left out, and the engaged couple gets married. I am confusing myself, so if this makes any sense whatsoever, congrats for reading my long post ^^ If anyone has anything to add, or something else to talk about on this subject, post away!

^^; sometimes when I confuse myself, I tend to confues others. I just want this to make some sense, and I'm glad it does.
Masquerade. It makes me happy when i hear it, but sad b/c of the Phantom singing it at the end. He's so alone, and it truly breaks my heart each time I see it.

I feel really bad for the phantom. Especially during the All I Ask of You reprise when he cries. He needs a hug.

Yes. That part is very sad. I know this might be kinda mean, but I just dislike Raoul. He's nice sometimes, sure, but I truly wanted the Phantom to end up w/ Christine.

I agree...Raoul is..ok.. but I would have much rather had Christine end up with the Phantom. I would have picked the Phantom over him.

OR COURSE I would pick the Phantom over Raoul. Raoul is a fop and...and...I hate him so much that I can't eve say anything. But Phantom of the Opera is one of my movies/books/muscials. My favourite songs would have to be Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night, and Point of no return. There is an entire thread I think about CB/PotO on phantomoftheOpera.com. i am PhantomsBlackRose if you ever go there.

I've read some topics there. Yeah, I searched for anything CB-related on that site, and found some things. I don't know if I'd join there or not, though.

I do think it's cool! I'm just saying, I don't know if I'll join it, let alone if I'll be ALLOWED to join. My dad is very strict about that.

I love The Phantom of the Opera. That's the best movie ever. I've never seen the broadway play of it before, just the movie only. But yeah, now that we think about it, The Phantom of the Opera is pretty much similar to the Corpse Bride.

It is. Only bad thing: Gerard Butler could not get the high note in Music of the Night.

True. And, in my opinion, he murdered the song Phantom of the Opera. I dunno, I just didn't like him in that song XP
But he was awesome in the rest of the movie!
