Hi, I am an English student that is doing a paper on the Art of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. I just wanted a little feedback on the movie for the artistic attributes of the movie. I would love to hear All points of view AND the views just don't have to be about the drawing part of the art. Thanks a bunch for any future comments and I am glad to be aboard! I apologize if I put this post in the wrong area....I'm new Christina

I moved it here because it may get some more traffic...unfortunately not. But I shall do my best to provide some feedback. What strikes me about the art of Corpse Bride is simply the puppets themselves. They are almost their own people, and it's really amazing to see them on display, because when used in the film, they become living art. I think that's what I find fascinating... and I will try to add some more on that later.

Hi Christina, Um, hope I'm answering the right question here. First, I got to agree with Gen. The puppets are amazing. They are detailed and the way that they were able to smooth out their movements in Corpse Bride versus those in say, Nightmare, or Wallace and Gromit (claymation but still stop motion in its own way) But the sets and the costumes and the colors all tie in to make the movie haunting for me. The music helped too. But the movie is haunting, it's beautiful at times for the puppets, the story, the emotion that the puppets manage to convey. The ending scene was too beautiful for words. Corpse Bride had a knack for being a touching movie, and not a frightening one, which says a lot seeing as most of the characters are rotting. But it isn't disgusting, nor is it gross or scary. I wish I could eloquently answer your question but as you can see, I can't even get my own thoughts together. Hope my rambling kindof helped though.

the whole process its self is magical to me....hand sculpting these intriciate little things, making these giant real life sets and getting so in touch with these characters is just amazing....its really a shame that stopma is a dieing art form...i hope when i get into college i'll be able to carry on the tradition in the words of Emily Watson "Victoria's put in more hours than i have!"
