This in my opinion was a simply stunning film. I agree it was very off the wall but what Depp/Burton film isn't? I think it adds to its brillience.
My favourite line has to be, "I can't" and "because you asked me too" yeah such a bitter sweet film.

Time to breathe life into another dead thread (lol rhyme). *thread CPR*
Okay, I'm done being weird for now.
Edward Scissorhands is the only movie I've ever seen that can make me cry. Ever. The parts with Kim and Edward are so sad! And I, too, want to strangle that lady for trying to molest Edward. But here's the thing that really makes me want to hurt her: SHE BLAMED IT ON HIM. Grr.
But poor Edward! All he wants is Kim, and those friggin scissors get in the way of everything he loves, until he's forced to return to his little tower. CURSE YOU, SCISSORS!!!

I know I find that really sad. He is such a kind and loving person...okay ready for my "insightful" thoughts lol not really but here we go anyway. I think it is a little creepy that he is so sweet yet no one can get near him because of the scissors while others are pure evil yet so many people are drawn to them...really shows that appearances can be decieving....

Yeah, I know what you mean. The movie more or less has a double meaning; Tim captures the mental feeling of being totally isolated and makes it physical so that we can understand. In the process, the meaning is almost lost on some people. My mother for example. The first time I saw it was on FX as a DVD on TV. As soon as a little excerpt of imaging was on the side before it went to commercials before it came on, the first words out of her mouth were, "Isn't that a scary movie? Are you sure you want to watch it?" Of course I pointed out it was a Burton film and that it probably wasn't. The first commercial break after the movie started I said, "See? It isn't scary; it's adorable."
And that's my rant. ^_^
