I know i'm probably the only hide fan on this board, but anyone who likes rock music or just fun music in general should check him out ^_^
hide (never capitalise the H or Jrock fans will kill you) was a guitarist in a band called X-Japan, the biggest rock band in Japanese history who sold over 50 million albums in Japan alone, X-Japan's music was orchestral rock.
Most of his solo stuff is very punk-ish and fun, but some of the lyrics are very sad.
Bands and musicians such as Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana have all cited hide as an inspiration to them, any musician that dyed his hair pink in 1998 was almost certainly doing it as a tribute to hide (he died in 1998 via an accident)
