Yeah, but it's okay
*throws hands in the air and cheers* I just made a skin! YES! The other site wouldn't let me do it, and it was wicked confusing. This way's so much easier! Wahoo! *hugs all villains*

Gen! I know. It's so true. But, they had to make Erik sexy for the 2004 film so they'd appeal to the fangirl audience. It seems like movie-makers think they can't do well unless they have fangirl material. -_-;; ^.^ BJ: Ah, who needs skin? ME: Not you, Beej. But, wrong type of skin.

Very true. I kinda liked it better when he was gruesome, for reaons Gen's already explained. It's easier to pity him, which is probably what you're supposed to be doing
Which is why the fact that Disney's signed up to make the Abarat movies has me worried. Barker himself said he's glad they got the job, because Disney's very visual with their work and they'll be able to make his characters and ideas come to life the best. But since they're visual, I'm got this anxious, slightly paranoid feeling they're gonna make all the characters look like they're supposed to have fangirls hanging all over them.They could easily do that with Malingo and Letheo, even John Mischief, fairly easily. I can't actually see how they could make it work for Carrion, but I don't doubt that they'd come up with a way. And you're supposed to pity Carrion. Dang. I'm upset they movie isn't gonna work out and it hasn't even come out yet! *goes back to working on forum*

I know just what you mean, Tara. But.....if they all do turn into fangirl material, at least we'll be able to say we loved them back when they were still just storybook characters (yes, I included myself in that. Even though I haven't read the books (yet), I've still come to love the characters). Oh yea, it'll be totally easy to turn Letheo into fangirl material. *sighs & shakes head* I'll bet if Abarat becomes a movie series, it'll be like another Harry Potter phenomenon. Fangirls galore. (Even though Harry Potter was popular before the movies)
I don't think they'd PURPOSELY turn him into fangirl material. But it would most definitely happen.

It seems like movie-makers think they can't do well unless they have fangirl material. That's true... I mean, I think if they had made him ugly, millions of teenaged girls everywhere would shout in unison 'BUT WHY IS HE SO UGLY?!?! WHY CAN'T HE BE HAAAAAAAWT?!!!!?1111!!!!11" Erik: (O)O I think by having him be so deformed, you just feel bad for him. Heck I know I did. I was all set to run up on stage and give him a big hug when I saw the play on Broadway. Thank goodness I wasn't sitting in the front row or I would've done it. Erik: No you wouldn't. Me: Yes.... I totally would. I would probably scared the sh*t out of Howard McGillin whilst doing so, but I would've jumped up onstage and given him a hug. *giggles*

So freaking true.
*nods* I know whatcha mean. I mean, seriously. I bet if they made a new live-action Hunchback, they'd get a hot guy to play Quasi. *sighs* The movie industry has been going down the tubes lately.
*giggles* Understandable.

Oh yeah. And I don't blame you; the characters are one of he things that drew me in right away
I probably would never have read the HP series if it weren't for my school. I guess they were having a contest at lunch this one day, and it was whoever's birthday was closest to that day, they won the first Harry Poter book. I wasn't even paying attention, but my friends started telling me to go up in front of the stage with the other kids cause that day happened to be my birthday and I would win. I had no clue what was going on, but I ended up winning the book
Their subconscious selves would do it purposely. There's actually a forum I found with this Abarat discussion, and one of the more popular threads there wa about casting. People mentioned Johnny Depp and Tim Burton quite a bit. Someone brought up the point that Disney strays a LOT from the stories they base their movies off of, whereas Tim stays pretty true to the originals. Someone else *shudders* said that, if Tim were directing the movie, they'd want Johnny Depp to play Carrion's part
CARRION: ....... ME: Yeah. Same here. Don't get me wrong, I still think Johnny's a great actor, but.......dear Lord, no
Definitely. I dare you to find one bad-looking character in FFVII: AC. Even Loz has his group of fangirls. Heck, Denzel probably has his circle of fangirls, and he's a kid!
Then again, I can't talk, cause I tend to be attracted to the most "hideous" looking characters ^.^;;;

Haah... I bet security would've had to pull me off stage. They would have had to've stopped the show - "Crazed fan rushes onstage!" hehe Erik: Or in this case, it would be "Phan" Me: Well I'm not really a "phan" Erik: Yes you are. You dragged me down here, you've sat through the 2004 film, you've seen the play, you're reading the book, you belong to two Phantom of the Opera forums, your favorite internet videos include The Phantom of the Opera in 15 Minutes, and Phantom of the Opera vs. V for Vendetta vs Edward Scissorhands... face it, you're a "phan" now. Me: You're also forgetting I have converted my mom into liking POTO. Today we were discussing powerful countries and I mentioned how Hitler made Germany a powerful country, but he himself was a coward because he killed himself... he couldn't stand to see his country go into shambles. My mom is like "That's what happened with the Phantom! I bet he kills himself after Christine leaves because without her, he's powerless." What have I done? Erik: *snickers* (~)~

They're all just so awesome! Well......not all of them, anyway. I find myself disliking Boa for some reason.
Haha, nice. My 6th grade teacher read the beginning of the 1st book to us in class, but the year ended before she got very far. Then I ended up watching the 1st movie in Spanish class for some reason.
Yea, probably.
So true.
Oh God, no. Just........no. And I don't even wanna know who they'd get to play Candy. I think Tara should play Candy! ^_^
EMBER: I wish. ME: *elbows him*
Ditto.

It'd definitely make it into the news I did, too. Now, all of a sudden, I don't. It's weird. Maybe I don't dislike her anymore because I'm so against BoaxCarrion that I don't even consider it an option anymore ^.^;;;;;;; Uhh.......if I played anyone, I'd wanna be Tria ^_^ I've got the whole "emotionless, nearly blank" expression down. Basically, in the first and second books, she's mainly either at the front of the boat, staring into nowhere, or just kind of being mystical and connected with nature and stuff. And she totally tells of John Serpent. But the odds of that happening are pretty slim. I did have this idea of sending Clive Baker a letter, suggesting that he include Tria's secret older sister, Tara, who finds out what happened to her sister and seeks revenge on Mater Motley. Then I figured ".......nah" I still have to mail him about all the mistakes he made in his books, though

I know, seriously. I have absolutely no idea why I'm so against it. Probably because she's just too perfect, y'know?
Oh yea, that's totally the part for you. I would've said that earlier, but I didn't know about her 'till just now. ^^;
Good move.
(le sigh) I am so stuck on what to do right now. *looks at the clock* Holy crap, it's 10:40 already? Jeez....

Exactly what I thought. I was like "Everyone's saying she's perfect, but we haven't actually been introduced to her yet, so how am I supposed to believe that?" Excuses, excuses *random urge* I'm on vacation! And the best part is it's a RANDOM vacation! ^_^ <--- my current face Oh, and check this out. Tell me what you think, besides the fac tthat the skin's gonna hurt your eyes. Don't worry, I'm working on a new one allwrite.proboards101.com/index.cgiI'm also aware that there's no posts and no members, besides myself. But I just made this today, so cut me some slack

Join if you want. I need to make sure Jem and Rae know I switched forums, because the other one wasn't working at all
I did say "besides myself." That's one member. One very active, hardworking member. So ha! I was just fixing a few things and making it look nice before I started trying to advertise. If you want to help, feel free. I already have a few places *goes to search around on allpoetry*

*shrugs* Sure. Why not? (I like the name of the site) My dear Tara, you know very well that you're pretty much nobody. Tara, you just missed the Irish Drinking song where Drew screws up, then Ryan makes fun of him & then nobody can finish the game. XD
