Really? Heh, thanks Sharon ^.^;;; *looks at Mori* Ha! ME: *laughs* Match made in Hell, more like. Isn't that geographically closer to where we are? CARRION: *thinking* Why am I still here? .......wow. I mean don't get me wrong, that was brilliant, just.....wow *laughs* EMBER: Good job, man, there are kids in here *glances pointedly at Mori* MORI: .......Y'know, for eight years I grew up with you being thirteen years older than me. Do you honestly think I didn't pick anything up from you at all? EMBER: *sheepish grin* Not the best influence, huh? MORI: Influence? No. Friend? Yes. EMBER: What have I told you about saying stuff like that in public? MORI: *shrugs* I don't remember. Probably wasn't listening to you EMBER: As usual. You always listen to Tides and Hazel MORI: .......hm? You say somethin? EMBER: Ha. Ha. Ha. MORI: For your information, I listen to Tides a lot less than I listen to Hazel, and I listen to hazel slightly less than I listen to you EMBER: .......what?

I've heard of it. It was on my reading list for seventh grade, but I chose Freak the Mighty instead
I heard The Giver was weird, though

MORI: Just you wait. I'll get another point sooner or later. I actually was thinking of saying that. But I decided to go w/ the more well-known saying. *can read his thoughts for some reason* 'Cause Tara won't let ya leave. But that's just me being....uh..*sees Tara glaring at her*....nevermind. For your information, Sparky...I had no intentions of using foul language. *laughs @ Mori* Ha ha! Right back in yo' face! Ooh, good call, Jem. *thinks of reading & shudders*

Freak the Mighty is a sad book. I read it in January.
The Giver... it's a great deal to explain. People don't have age, I guess, but are called, say, an Eleven when they are eleven years old. Then after twelve, you don't pay attention to your age. Long time to explain everything that happens. XP

Ooh, good call, Jem. *thinks of reading & shudders* I don't know how you can't like reading. It's fun! XP Depends on what you like, I guess. I'm almost done with Pirates! by Celia Rees, and it is a great book that reminds me of PotC a little.

I've read the Giver. I loved that book. Haven't read Pirates! yet, but I know a friend who is.
It's not more of after eleven it doesn't matter the age, it's like. Ooh, I have to explain how this works... *starts typing up little giver thing*
Ok, it's set in the future, in a society that is "perfect". There is no real sickness, no war, no pain, no unfairness. People adhere to society, there are woman who's jobs it is to create babies. Everyone is happily married, family members are put together by society, and there are certain costums and stuff everyone adheres to. The children learn in school and grow up to be a certain profession, which they intern with in advance. Then when they turn twelve, I think it was, they are given their jobs for the rest of their lives. The main character doesn't get the job he wants, in fact he gets a job he's never even really heard of before. He becomes the Giver's apprentice. Now the Giver is a special man as he holds all the memories of the past for society. Without him, the society would fall apart as people cannot handle the truth of the past, the strife, the being as it were. Now, in this world, you have to know, there is no real fun. There is no real concept of fun. There is no real sadness, there is no death. There is no color and there isn't much taste. The giver holds all of these sensations in memories. And his job is to store those memories, and when he's old enough, pass them on to his succesor. Without that, people would go into havoc. The story's about the boy gaining these memories, and learning how to handle them, also how he goes against society.

I dunno. I guess it depends on the book. I just...I dunno. I always was an above-average reader when I was younger...but it's just not appealing to me. Like, I'll be reading something for school, and I'll be halfway through the page, and I'll realize that I've just been glazing over the words & not actually reading. I'll have to read over a paragraph 10 times before I can comprehend it. ^^;
.......*smirks* You're lucky you're so darn cute.
Eeep! I gotta go now. XP Bye all!
