I don't know why. Probably because when you get people who are bored they run around the forum trying to stir up trouble. Unfortunately they succeed.

Yeah, that's the reason I don't go on TBC anymore, in fear of being flammed about my opinion, which seems to happen alot there... Why should they care what we think about BJ? lol...

In my humble, non-minion non-mod opinion, i think everyone here should stay away from that thread for a while. All the fangirls should just stop posting there for a while, wait for the flamers to move on (probably to the CatCF forum), then start up the fun again.

They shouldn't, but they do. That is why I avoid it. And my posts usually are ignored as well, which makes it worthless to go there. ^^; I'm still slightly sore on how my topic about Victor and his singing died a horrible death. And then someone remade it with the exact same premise and that survived longer. >.> Ah well. *smiles* It isn't a biggy. I prefer the halloween town forums myself. And here, and the boingo board (which is running sluggishly at the moment, ah well) Because at least in HT they don't post up naked pics in the random thoughts thread. And they don't normally flame. (although I did hear about some unfair modding in the past, but that was a year ago and they are a very friendly bunch)

They'd probably spam threads about how Willy's hair looked... Lol...
EDIT: Is anyone still here?

Yeah. I notice how long your posts get, Sharon. It's nice from just the one-liners/one-worders that often pop up. Especially on the Film Scoring thread in the Elfman section I like that thread a lot. Good for some nice discussion and such But yeah, a lotta the time poeple say what they wanna say and ignore everyone else Okay, it's about 10:30, and I gotta go. I'll be on tomorrow, definitely (I have to write the whole body of my paper, due Thursday, but big deal. We get so much time to work on it in school it's scary. and my paper's starting to write itself ) See you guys later! Me: (to Carrion) I've got a survey to do for school, titled "Favorite Animal/Type of Music" Yeah, random, but that's what mah school's like I'll be back for the answer sometime tomorrow Bye everyone who might still be here!

I ramble and rant. ^^; I was surprised when an LJ post got to be over a page. And I can't stop like, thinking about Danny's music. Its gotten to be a bit too big of an obsession it is scary. So I have to start researching other composers as well. Like Shore. But, I found out something interesting while I was ranting about how the King Kong score got a golden globe while it sounded like LotR and Shore. Well, that's because it -is- Shore. He got in a fight with Jackson, left, and they pulled the other guy in to patch up what Shore didn't do yet. And that really angers me because then Shore should get credit. It's mostly his score. You can hear that. And that other guy should not get best original score, but I'm afraid he will, because people are so blind...
Ack *waves and hugs* See you Tara. Have a good nights sleep and good luck with Synthesis.

Do you know how impossible it is to discuss anything in-depth with rabid fangurls? I especially hate the bandwagon-jumpers. They'd never HEARD of Willy Wonka before the movie came out, and all of a sudden they're liek OMG teh wurld's #1 fan of it. That pisses me off to no end. And it was the same friggin' thing with LOTR. Sure, it was fairly popular with a nice big fanbase, but they were the older fans, who'd been there when they first got released, or the children of the original fans who grew up with the stories and knew the characters all by heart *cough POINTSTOSELFcogh*
Now, I don't claim to be the ultimate reasource on LOTR, but I know a heckuva lot more than the prepubescent idiots who clutter my favorite fandoms with mary-sues, self-inserts, implausible slash pairings (HARRY/BUCKBEAK?!?!? WTF, MATES?!), and barely legible fiction spore. Not that it's any better for the original movies. I love Johnny Depp as an actor, but he's a fandom-killer. The second the fangurls see his name in the credits, they swarm to that fandom like maggots to a dead horse. I;ve seen it time after time after time, and it gets to the point where I wanna scream, "ARE YOU ALL SO DENSE AS TO MISS THE REAL MEANINGS OF THIS FILM?!" Edward Scissorhands is a prime example. I could CHOKE myself on the number of "outcast girl goes up to the mansion, finds Edward, and falls in twu wub" fanfics there are. Romance was NOT the main point of that film!! But do the fangurls listen/know this/care?! NO!! They're far too busy lusting after Johnny Depp with a ton of make-up on. Willy Wonka's an even MORE implausible romantic!! He hardly let anyone within 10 FEET of him, let alone screw a mary-sue with perfect teeth and curves in all the right places.
The point of this Squishy rant is to point out how certain people who don't care to obsess to the degree we do can get the idea that we're all a bunch of jacked-out girls who have nothing better to do than lust after puppets. There's a nice big difference between a "fangIrl" and a "fangUrl". Try not to be the latter, please.
[EDIT] dang, i'm WAY late. BYE TARA!!

*rushes back in to shout* LET THERE BE JUSTICE IN THE WORLD! I love Shore's scores (heh) in LotR. Pure genius, and it's just gorgeous.
Bye Sharon! *hugs* Thanks, dudette
And now, I'm off! *dashes back out door*
*runs back in, yet again, to throw arms around Squishy's neck in a huge hug* THANK YOU, TOO! I mean, I hadn't even heard of LotR until a while after the first movie came out (first one being the more recent films, not the animated ones) I was sickened by the number of people who saw it and just went on and on about how amazing Orlando Bloom was. Then again, it wasn't quite as bad as Johnny, because nobody had even really heard of Bloom before LotR But seriously. I was on Neopets (yes, neopets, and this is a good example as to why I'm trying to entertain myself by reforming the site), and I found a thread where someone was saying how much hotter William turner was than Legolas My first post wsa "Gee, this thread has so much potential..." And, of course, since I used proper grammar and spelling, the person replied with, no joke, "..huh???" So I went on about how stupid it was to argue who was cuter when you could argue the movies themselves! And, I was polite enough to point out that both Legolas and Turner were pretty shallow characters. I mean, they were cute, okay, but there really wasn't much to them. And Legolas barely had any lines that even fit "They run as if the very whips of their masters were behind them" ~TTT Um, DUH? It was just so random and everything. But that's off topic. The point is, when I was watchng LotR for the first time, yes, I did think Legolas and Aragorn and everyone was cute, but I was paying more attention to the music/acting/special effects (which were stunning)/costume and set design/all the technical aspects Fantastic. And the movie would have remained that way had Legolas not even been in it.
Well. That was so long, drawn-out, and almost pointless. I digressed, but I agree with Squishy. I saw the films first and loved them, and am a fan of LotR A really big fan. But definitely not the biggest, and no, I don't know everything about it. Far from it. But I consider myself a fan, since I've seen the movies, love them, and am now eager to learn more about LotR because of them
Take THAT, all you "Mrs. Bloom"s out there!
*runs back out, for the FINAL TIME, I swear*

I completely agree with you Squish, mary-sues, self-inserts, extremely uncalled for slash pairings, and those fangurls who don't care about the point of the movie, really need a decent shin kicking... It just irks me when I read a fan-fic that's plot is like "And then Edward Scissorhands and Perfectgirl fell in love and lived happily ever after in their awsome castle with lots of kids..." W....T.....F??!!

Squishy, some times I really love you. Such as now with that rant. A perfect example of what people need to understand and think about. *sighs* Do I come off as fangirly or fangurly to you? And fangirly doesn't sound too nice either, if you think about it...
And the only Edward Scissorhands fic I read worth reading, well there were two. and they weren't very happy. One was Kim going to see him again (as an aged grandmother) The other was him coming out yet again, and being taken in by a doctor along with other disadvantaged kids. And how he begins to cope again. However, that was a little bit off, but still good to read.

Tara, you ever read the books? LIGHTYEARS BETTER THAN THE FILMS. Oh sure, the films were great, but to truly appreciate Tolkein, ya gotta read the books. Really. And Emma, a decent shin-kicking is given to fangurls every half-hour on GAFF. That's why I joined up Sharon, do you write/draw pics of you and Danny getting married? Do you post "OMG Danny is liek teh hawtnezz lol" every single time? I didn't think so. You are a fangirl, my friend. I can tell. 9_9 when you've been a GAFFer as long as I, you can tell.
